Denver A-List 2012 Award Winner - BEST Theatre Group Runner-Up

We did it!!

THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!!  THANK YOU!!!  THANK YOU!!!!

To everyone who voted for us in the Denver A-List contest for this year: You rock.  After taking a respectable 5th Place the last two years and acknowledged in the Top 5 we reached an impressive Runner-Up finish for 2012!  Our congratulations to the Denver Center Theatre Company for taking the win for this year and to all the other Finalists in this year’s contest.  If you didn’t vote in the contest you should give it some thought next summer.  Many A-List businesses that are shops or restaurants have deals to reward you for voting, similar to Groupon.  It’s a great way to talk up your favorites, get to discover new businesses and get some sweet deals as well!

We’ve had some rescheduling of a couple of performances originally slated for August and September at the request of the Clients!  Our private performance of The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery for the members of The Ranch Country Club in Westminster originally scheduled for August 30th has been moved to Saturday, October 13th.  Please contact Shaun Poe or Rick Marose if you are a member of the club and would like to attend.  Our public fundraiser performance of The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery to benefit the Parker Arts Council originally scheduled for September 23rd has been moved to Sunday, October 28th and will also be at a different venue, Clavin’s Bar and Grill.  Here’s the info:

The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery

Party like it’s 1942!

Special Fundraiser Performance!

Journey back to 1942 as we join the Society of Winemakers Interested in Local Levity (S.W.I.L.L.) for their annual gathering and fundraiser, hosted by Anna Nutherplees. A number of local vineyard owners will be showing off their prize vintage and vying for First Place, including Jean Pierre LaFoote, a French war refugee ,and the ditzy Henrietta Hottentotten, the very young new bride of one of the oldest winemakers in the area. Among the attendees of local celebrities and society patrons of the Who’s Who crowd is Victoria Lawless, chanteuse & femme fatale who also happens to be a total klutz. When a death occurs, local reporter Simon Spade fulfills a dream and becomes an unlikely film noir detective to determine what happened and if international espionage is involved!

Due to slight sexual humor this show is rated PG. At least 6 audience members become characters in the show, so if you have someone you’d like to ‘volunteer’ for us, bring ’em along!

At Clavin’s Bar and Grill – 17904 Cottonwood Dr, Parker, CO 80134. Proceeds benefit the Parker Arts Council. Reservations Required. $42/person includes buffet dinner, show, tax & tip. Bar bill separate. Visit http://www.parkerartscouncil.org/purchase-tickets–the-grapes-of-death-a-vintage-murder-mystery.cfm to make your reservations.

Solve the mystery and win a fabulous prize!  You’ll Die Laughing!!!

“Grapes” continues to catch the interest of just about everyone who hears about the show.  We’re not sure if it’s the glamour of the 1940s, the film noir detective spin we’ve thrown in, the premise of a bunch of winemakers who love to get sloshed, or something else.  Whatever it is, we’ll gladly keep taking the calls and e-mail inquiries about this show.  (Hint – If you want to see what the fuss is about, you better click on that link for the Park Arts Council show and make your rezzies ASAP!)  If you would like to bring the Society of Winemakers Interested in Local Levity to your venue, please call Matthew D. Osmun at 303.408.4246.

Not to be outdone by a bunch of winos, our still very funny but slightly creepy Antiques Revengeshow returns just in time as the colder weather of autumn hits us and things seen from the corner of our eyes make us pause and wonder if it was a shadow, a trick of the light, or something not of this world.  Our take on everyone’s favorite antique appraisal show on PBS wowed sold-out audiences earlier this year and you have the chance to see it September, October and November, exclusively at Cherokee Ranch & Castle!  The folks at the Castle asked us to write a show that could be performed uniquely for them.  The result is a mystery a bit more dark than our usual fare but still full of the trademark gimmicks, in-jokes and other bits MO Productions is known for, including the most audience participation characters in a show to date.  Read on and get your rezzies in… if you dare!

Antiques Revengeshow

Come attend a special stop of “Antiques Hit the Road”, our spoof of the PBS show that allows people to have their “little treasures” appraised. This event is particularly special, as it is being held at Cherokee Ranch & Castle, home of many valuable antiques itself. But something sinister seems to have brought all these people together in this space. Is it the objects? Are they cursed by spirits of the Afterlife, as a mysterious stranger suggests? Or is something more corporeal behind the happenings at the Castle? Can the mystery be solved as people start dropping like flies?

Due to slight sexual humor this show is rated PG. At least 10 audience members become characters in the show, so if you have someone you’d like to ‘volunteer’ for us, bring ’em along!

And lastly, yes, even though it’s September it’s time for you to be thinking about Christmas/Holiday Parties, those of you who coordinate for your business or are known for doing something fabulous every year.  Our biennial holiday show, Have a Holly Jolly Murder – A Musical Murder Mystery, is booking up.  We have two public and a number of private performances already scheduled, and the inquires are coming in more steadily now.  If you would like to book a private performance at Cherokee Ranch & Castle please call the Castle at 303.688.5555 immediately, as they are very limited with availability.  If you would like to book a performance at the venue of your choice, please call Matthew D. Osmun at 303.408.4246.  It’s best to call at least 10 weeks or more in advance, have 1-3 potential dates and as much other information up front as possible in order to quickly lock in a booking.  We are pretty flexible all-around but the holiday crunch can limit our availability quite a bit, so please contact us sooner than later!  Having a murder mystery in your home is much more affordable than you may think!

Have a Holly Jolly Murder

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and word of mouth advertising.  We couldn’t be one of the Best Theatre Groups in Denver three years in a row without you!  Be well, stay warm, and we hope to tickle your funny bone sometime soon!

Kind Regards,
