Come see “Will & Grace” 7/27! Please Vote for Us!! Christmas in July?

Is it hot enough for you yet?

Jack & Marilyn

Jack & Marilyn, the official Doggie Detectives of MO Productions, needed to cool off at Cherry Creek State Park last weekend.

Happy July, everyone!  We hope you’re staying cool with all these 100°+ days lately.  Besides the actual weather keeping things hot we have a number of things in the works that are keeping MO Productions SIZZLING!

Tomorrow we have a special semi-private performance of The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery at Cherokee Ranch & Castle:
The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery
Exclusive for Retirement Communities & Senior Centers
Luncheon Show
Presented by MO Productions
Sunday, July 15: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Castle Great Hall
All-Inclusive Reservations: $45 features Castle Mini-Tour, Lunch Buffet, Dessert and Murder Mystery Show.  Cash bar separate.

This performance came about from one Retirement Community that wanted to have a luncheon show for their residents, but the number of people they wanted to have attend was a bit on the low side and would fall into private show pricing, which was not really in their budget, so the quick-thinking Special Programs staff at the Castle suggested that they open the performance up to other Retirement Communities and Senior Centers, which allowed us to offer the show with public luncheon show pricing which easily sold out.  MO Productions is available for private shows at Cherokee Ranch & Castle given advance notice, and both MO Productions and the Castle are open to arranging other unique performances like the one we will have tomorrow.  Please call Amy Shanton at 303.688.5555 ext. 2 for more information on booking a private show at the Castle, and please contact Matthew Osmun at 303.408.4246 for more information on booking a private show at the venue of your choice.

Then, two Fridays from today on July 27th , we will be back at the Castle for our regular monthly show:

Will & Grace: Who Killed Stan? Friday, July 27: 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Cherokee Ranch & Castle – 6113 N Daniels Park Rd, Sedalia, CO 80135.
In the Castle Great Hall!
All-Inclusive Reservations: $65 features Castle Mini-Tour, Dinner Buffet, Dessert and Murder Mystery Show.  Cash bar separate.
Call 303.688.4600 to make your reservations.

Purchase two reservations and receive two drink tickets at the bar for cocktails, beer, wine, soda or juice.

This may be one of our last performances of “Will & Grace”, so if you haven’t seen it yet, call and get those rezzies in!!  And speaking of doing something if you haven’t yet…

Denver A-List

MO Productions is competing for Best Theatre Group on the Denver A-List, and WE NEED YOUR VOTE!!  For the last two years we have been fortunate enough to earn 5th Place, which we have been very happy with, as the A-List publicly recognizes the Top 5 businesses in each category as winners each year.  But you know what would make us even happier?  You got it: 4th Place or better for 2012!!  As of the posting of this blog we are currently in 5th Place, but voting runs until 8/17 and it’s still anybody’s game!  It’s very easy to vote for us.  Simply follow this link to our page on the Denver A-List, log in and vote:  If you’ve never voted on the A-List you just need to register an e-mail address.  It’s painless and you will not get spammed!  You may vote once for each category per registered e-mail address, so if you can register more than one to help us out it would be appreciated.  Also, please surf the other categories and vote.  A number of businesses offer Voter Deals as a reward for choosing them, so you not only help out that business get closer to 1st Place but you get a lil’ something of value in return.  Unfortunately, MO Pro is not able to offer a Voter Deal at this time.  We will see if next year is possible.

Looking ahead to August & September we are gearing up for our monthly show at Cherokee Ranch & Castle but we have a number of other public and private performances as well.  In fact, we’ll be extra-busy and doing triple-duty on 8/17.  Not only will we be trying to get every last possible vote on the A-List, but we have our monthly performance at the Castle, which will be The Hillbillies From Hell for August, and at the same time we will be performing The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery at the Westin in Westminster for a private corporate event.  How is that even possible, you say?  It wasn’t easy, but we are fortunate to have enough talented actors and experienced stage managers to be able to perform two different shows in two different locations at the exact same time.  Oh, and having a back-up sound system didn’t hurt either.  September will welcome the return of our exclusive show at the Castle, Antiques Revengeshow, and we are also looking to bring more public performances of our other shows at different locations in the Denver Metro area.  We haven’t gotten the paperwork signed yet so we don’t want to disclose any more than that, but please keep an eye on either our Facebook Page or Group, be sure you’re following us on Twitter or check out our calendar on the MO Pro website to be among the first to find out when we schedule new public performances!

And even though it’s hotter than Hades out there, we’re already dealing with holiday bookings!  Have a Holly Jolly Murder – A Musical Murder Mystery is our show for this holiday season and is available from mid-November through January of 2013.  We first performed this show in 2010 at The Broker Restaurant and will produce it every other year alternating with Columbo and the Case of the Country Christmas Killer.  “Holly Jolly” is set at a Christmas Pageant in 1988 and filled with some great holiday musical numbers.  We are bringing back most of the original actors from 2010 but we will be switching around some roles and also changing a few of the songs, so if you saw the show at The Broker it ain’t gonna be the exact same thing this time around!  We want to keep you on your toes, you know?  We have one public show scheduled at the Castle on 12/14 and are already taking calls for private bookings, so the calendar will fill up sooner than later.  If you would like to have us be the “entertainment to die for” at your holiday party this year, call 303.408.4246 as soon as you can before the date you want is gone!  We are also very happy to present a special performance of “Holly Jolly” as a fundraiser event:

Hoah-kay!  My fingers are sore from typing, so I think I’ll wrap up.  I guess that’s what happens when you’re… turning 40!  That’s right, folks.  In between our next two performances next week I will welcome the Big Four-Oh.  It wasn’t really hitting me until a few weeks ago when I was at a party and talking up our “Will & Grace” show when the twenty-something year-old young man I was speaking to said, “Oh yeah.  That show was on when I was a kid.”  I nearly dropped my cocktail onto the floor.  And with that anecdote, I’m done and heading to the liquor cabinet.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and patronage.  Please keep up that great Word of Mouth advertising and please, Please, PLEASE vote for us on the A-List!!

Kind Regards,

Matthew D. Osmun – Owner/Producer/Director
