Greetings all you happy people!

Here is our second blog for the month, as promised.  We’re reaching the end of our first busy period of the fall/winter and gearing up for Round 2 very soon!

Wednesday, October 19th, Jack & Karen from Will & Grace: Who Killed Stan? will be making a special appearance at “Buying Wine Blind” at the Cork House Wine Restaurant, 4900 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80220.  This event is an easy to understand seminar and wine party to show you how to read label descriptions and ratings.  Thus armed, you will be able to buy a bottle of wine in any store that you KNOW you will enjoy in any price range you choose.  The price is $20 per person and includes some appetizers and sampler wines.     This is going to be a very popular event, so please call The Cork House at 303-355-4488.  You will need a credit card number to hold your spot.  You can call the Cork House anytime on Wednesday for that evening, so come on out!  Jack and Karen will be “helping” with the presentation, if you get my drift…

This weekend we have back-to-back shows at two different venues!  On Saturday the 22nd we will be back at Cherokee Ranch and Castle with The Return of Sherlock Holmes.  This performance has been sold out for over 2 months!!!  We are really enjoying our relationship with the Castle.  They have added another public performance for our holiday show, Columbo and the Case of the Country Christmas Killer, on Saturday, November 19th, and… you guessed it: The new show is almost sold out already as well!  Call Cherokee Ranch & Castle at 303.688.4600 to make reservations ASAP if you want to see our holiday show there!  On Sunday the 23rd we are back home at The Broker Restaurant with Will & Grace: Who Killed Stan?  This performance features newcomers Will Willhide and Kathryn Gourley as Will and Grace, MO Pro Good Girl Gone Bad Jaclyn Snyder as Karen and myself as Jack.  Seating is getting full but you can still call The Broker at 303.292.5065 to make your rezzies up until Saturday night.  Remember, at only $40/person we are THE BEST VALUE for Murder Mystery in Denver!!

We have started rehearsals for our Columbo holiday show and we’re already having a blast!  The Broker has been getting calls and reservations for our public shows there for November and December, plus we’ve been booking private shows as well!  MO Productions is available for private performances at any location!  If you’d like to book us for a private show at The Broker call Sarah Bourgoin at 303.292.5065.  If you’d like to book us for a private show at Cherokee Ranch & Castle call Amy Shanton at 303.688.5555.  If you’d like to book us for a private show at any other location, including your home, call Matthew Osmun at 303.408.4246.  We’re just about booked solid for the remainder of 2011, but we will offer “Columbo” through January for anyone wanting to have their holiday party after the holidays!  “Will & Grace” is available for private bookings as well!!

Happy Autumn, everyone!

There’s so much to tell you this month that we’ll have to send out two newsletters again.  We’re crazy busy at MO Productions and gearing up for our biggest autumn and winter to date!  So this newsletter will be brief, as I am juggling about 5 different things right now!

MO Productions would like to send special thanks to Heidi McGuire and Metromix Denver for attending the opening night of Will & Grace: Who Killed Stan? on Sept. 25th.  Heidi brought along a camera and filmed us before, during and after the show, and we were featured on the 10:00 News on 9News last weekend!  Here’s the spot:

You will note the plug for this Saturday, October 8th.  We are helping to raise money for Rainbow Alley, which is part of the GLBT Center of Denver dedicated to youth outreach and support.  It’s only $22 to come see The Hillbillies From Hell at tHERe Bar and Coffee House.  Your admission covers the show, light refreshments and your donation.  It’s going to be a fun, intimate performance of one of our campiest shows featuring veteran actors of MO Productions.  For those of you who know Jasper Nova, you will get to see the other side of Tanya Obernyer as the sassy and bawdy Maybelline Mudpatch.  She’s in a skirt, y’all!  Ya gotta see it to believe it!     Here are the details:

Happy Labor Day!  We’ve been certainly laboring here at MO Productions.  Lots of great news to share with you, so read on!!

We are very excited to announce that for the second year in a row, MO Productions placed in the Top 5 for Best Theatre Group on the Denver 7 A-list!  Even though we didn’t make it to #1, we’re extremely happy, especially since there were twice the nominees in this category as last year.  Thank you to everyone who voted and continues to support our company!

Coming off this victory, we are gearing up for a very busy fall.  We will have five weekends of activity in a row before a short break and then we’ll be back at it for at least four weekends in a row.  If you were thinking of booking MO Productions for your holiday party you should call 303.408.4246 ASAP so have the best chance of getting the date you want!!

50% of your admission price for this performance will be donated towards Dannea Raff, who was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, to help Dannea get the medical treatment she needs to continue enriching the lives of everyone she touches.

We hope you can make it out and help us raise money for a worthy cause.  It’s also a great way to see a show at one of the lowest prices ever!  Our actors are doing this show for free to maximize the donation.

So, that’s two weekends covered, right?  What about the other three?

We will be holding open auditions for our holiday show, Columbo and the Case of the Country Christmas Killer, and our new show for 2012, The Grapes of Death: A Vintage Murder Mystery, on Sunday, October 9th.  Auditions will be held at The Broker from 3:00-6:00.  No preparation or appointment necessary.  We will do cold readings.  For more information about the auditions please visit our website or call 303.408.4246.  We are busy writing both shows and will post character descriptions on our website as soon as we can.  We are taking bookings for both shows now though, so if you’d like to book either show give us a call!

On Saturday, October 15th we will be performing for the members of The Ranch Country Club in Westminster, CO.  Both The Ranch and MO Productions are excited to debut at this scenic club.  The event is limited to members and their guests only.  For reservation information please call Rick Marose at 303.460.9700 ext 12.  If you would like information on how to book us for a private performance at your club or venue, please contact us!

Rounding out our fifth weekend of activity are back to back shows on the 22nd & 23rd of October.  Saturday the 22nd we will be back at Cherokee Ranch and Castle in Sedalia, CO with The Return of Sherlock Holmes.  However, this performance HAS ALREADY SOLD OUT!!!  We plan on doing more shows at the Castle in 2012.  To get on the waiting list for this performance as well as let Cherokee Ranch & Castle know that you want to see us perform there again please call 303.688.4600.

Our “Columbo” holiday show will perform at The Broker Restaurant for four Sundays in a row starting Thanksgiving weekend on November 27th.  This show is available for private parties at The Broker as well as the venue of your choice.  Our holiday shows are family-friendly and silly fun for a group to enjoy.

We have a new video in cyberspace!  Check out our video footage of As Slain on TV.  This show is one of our wildest ones yet, and is still available for bookings through January.  You can find the video on YouTube, Facebook and we will have it on our website very soon.  Please view it, Like it and share it.  Help increase our online footprint!

We are having a blast rehearsing Will & Grace: Who Killed Stan?  This show will open September 25th at The Broker Restaurant.  Even though it’s over a month away, you should call 303.292.5065 and reserve now.  We anticipate that this show will sell out.  Trust us, seeing Rosario will be worth the price of admission alone!

Speaking of selling out, our October 22nd performance of The Return of Sherlock Holmes at Cherokee Ranch and Castle is almost sold out!  When we checked a couple weeks ago there were only about 20 seats left.  So if you’d like to join us in contacting the spirit world with Madame Mariska at a castle the week before Halloween, you better call 303.688.4600 and reserve ASAP.
