Happy New Year, everyone!! We have very exciting news to announce!

MO Productions has found another new public venue, and they have committed to six performances over the next three months!  We are very excited to be working with The Broker Restaurant!  This fine dining establishment is nestled in the heart of downtown Denver, set in what was formerly a bank vault!  They offer excellent food, and will be hosting our shows in their main dining room.

We have changed around our production schedule at the request of The Broker, so The Wizard of Ozzy has been pushed back until this summer.  We are still looking for 1-2 men for roles in that show, so if you are interested, or someone who might be, please call or e-mail to set up an audition with us!  So, if we’re not doing Ozzy, then what are we doing?  I guess we’ve got some ’splainin’ to do…

That’s right!  MO Productions is happy to announce we will be doing I Love Lucy… to Death! at The Broker.  Here are the dates:

Saturday, February 6th, Saturday March 20th, & Saturday April 17th – Doors open @ 6:00, Salads served by 6:30.  The show runs until about 9:45.Now, The Broker also wanted something with a bit more mystery in it, and requested a Sherlock Holmes show.  Accepting the challenge, I took it to task to write a show specifically for them.  We are very excited to announce the World Premiere of The Return of Sherlock Holmes!  Here are the dates:

Saturday, March 13th, Saturday April 3rd, & Saturday April 24th – Doors open @ 6:00, Salads served by 6:30.  The show runs until about 9:25.

• Reservations are required for all shows.

• The price is $50/person, which includes three course meal, the show, non-alcoholic beverages, tax & tip.  Bar bill is separate.  (Wow, What a great deal!!)

We would like to give a shout-out and super big thanks to Ruby Ann Boxcar, the star of Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret’s newest feature: Ruby Ann Boxcar’s Great Big After-Church Sunday Social.  Ruby Ann has a great show every Sunday from 1:00-2:30 until September 27^th.  She includes audience talent to come up on stage every week, and allowed MO Productions to do a bit from Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead last Sunday.  We had a great time watching her show, and suggest you do the same before Ruby Ann heads back to California!

Lastly, we must sadly bid farewell to one of our MO Productions family.  Peter Stone, our Stage Manager, has decided to move back east to Massachusetts.  He will be greatly missed.  We wish him all the best, and hope he might make it back out here again sometime!  Peter, as we say in The Hillbillies From Hell: “Y’all come back now!  Ya hear?!”

Well, July is here, and BANG! we’re off and running again!  MO Productions has just celebrated our 1st Anniversary, and we continue to survive in this slow economy.

We’re happy to announce our return yet again to Hamburger Mary’s.  Our debut performance of Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead there SOLD OUT and we actually had to turn over a dozen people away!!!!  MO Productions presents The Hillbillies From Hell on Friday, July 24th.  Seating times are still to be determined, but please check back on our website or www.hamburgermarysdenver.com for show times.  Reservations are recommended and will be available through the Hamburger Mary’s website shortly.  Price is only $10.00 and then you may order food and beverages à la carte once you arrive.  Admission will be $15.00 at the door, so if you reserve ahead of time, you can save $5.00!

Join the Mudpatch Family reunion and see what Cousins Maybelline & Buford have in store for y’all.  Due to sexual humor, this show is rated PG-13.

MO Productions will be offering The Hillbillies From Hell as an alternate show to our main production at all times, and it is also the perfect show for a smaller private home party of 8+ people.  This show uses only two actors, so it is very affordable for a smaller private event.  Check out our recent private performance on YouTube!

Not only are we on YouTube, but MO Productions has our own page on Facebook.  So, if you’re a Facebook member, please become a Fan of MO Productions there!  And please pass the word.  The more exposure we get, the better we can serve you and have more performances!!

We have decided to postpone the opening of The Wizard of Ozzy until 2010, because of the slower economy, and instead will continue to offer our current show, Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead, as well as our previous show, Columbo’s Crazy Caper and The Hillbillies From Hell through the end of this year.  That’s three different quality shows to choose from!!  We will announce the audition dates and location for The Wizard of Ozzy this fall.

I would like to thank the casts of Columbo’s Crazy Caper, Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead, & The Hillbillies From Hell for their willingness to stay available for performances, and also to our growing fan base of patrons who have attended our shows and shown interest in MO Productions.  We’re getting calls and e-mails inquiring about parties for the holiday season, and we look forward to growing our base of venues, both public and private.  And don’t forget, MO Productions offers special discounted pricing for being the entertainment for your Charity Fund Raiser!

Greetings and Happy Spring to everyone!  It’s April, and the only foolin’ MO Productions has been doing is laughing at ourselves during rehearsals.

We are busy rehearsing two great new shows for the Denver area: Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead and The Hillbillies From Hell.  Read on to learn more, and be sure to visit moproductions.net for more info!!

Retail can be murder!

MO Productions is excited to introduce our newest show: Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead!  Come join the mall managers and store owners of the Fountain Commons mall as they hold their quarterly meeting of the Fountain Commons’ Community Committee.  Besides typical boring mall business, the Committee is voting for which of three finalists will be the mall’s upcoming holiday mascot, and it’s rumored that the mall Manager has discovered who the mysterious Vandal is that’s been causing distress and destruction to many merchants in the mall for the past few months.  Will the Vandal allow his or herself to be revealed?  If you’ve ever worked in a mall or know someone who has, this show is a real hoot and spoof of the typical (and not-so-typical) mall merchants.  Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead will be available starting in May and run through September.  Our Dress Rehearsal will be May 5th and is by invitation only.  If you’d like to be invited to the Dress Rehearsal, drop us an e-mail!  Our first scheduled performance is May 22nd:

The Hillbillies From Hell is our other new production.  This show will be available primarily for a Home Murder Mystery Party of 8 or more people, but can also be an alternate show to our main production.  Come join Buford and Maybelline Mudpatch as they visit their rich cousin who is hosting a Mudpatch Family Reunion.  Maybelline has brought along her Critter Crispers containers to hawk like Tupperware, and Buford is a hootin’ and a hollerin’ right alongside her, catching up with all their kin.  When one of the Mudpatches goes to the ole trailer in the sky, a long-lost relative shows up to solve the case!  This show is shorter than our regular shows, and very affordable for your private home party, even in this economy!!  We have two casts chompin’ at the bit to start peformin’ for y’all startin’ in June, so give us a call!

We bid a fond farewell to Columbo’s Crazy Caper, our inaugural production.  The cast did a fantastic job to help get the ball rolling for MO Productions and getting our name out there.  Columbo may be done with its initial run, but the cast is available for a private performance for your corporate or home party.  Please e-mail us with the details of your event, and we will do everything we can to bring Columbo to you!!

Looking forward to the end of the year, MO Productions will hold auditions for our Oct-Feb show, The Wizard of Ozzy, later this summer.  More info will come as we get closer.  This show follows the wacky antics of that bleepin’ Osbourne Family as Sharon holds a fund raiser for her charity, The Sharon Osbourne Pomeranian Charity Fund, and features Ozzy Bingo as well as a surprise guest detective!

Greetings from the winter that won’t stay winter!  This is our first “official” blog on the new blog page, and I’m happy to bring you some updates for MO Productions!  If you’ve just stumbled upon our blog, MO Productions is Denver, CO’s newest and funniest interactive murder mystery comedy dinner theatre company.  Enjoy the read!

First of all, if you haven’t been to our website lately, take a look!  We have made updates and added content.  More will be coming soon.  Special thanks to Erin N. for some cast shots backstage at our last performance!

We had a very well received second performance of Columbo’s Crazy Caper a few weeks ago at Hamburger Mary’s.  The audience loved the show, and demonstrated how much they were paying attention by asking far more questions during our Q & A at the end of Act II than I’ve seen at a performance in a loooong time.  Our actors really had to be on their game for some of these well-thought out questions!  We will not be at Hamburger Mary’s for February, as they have a very full schedule.  But, if you’d like them to have us back, please let Mary’s know!  Your word of mouth can be quite influential!  E-mail mary@hamburgermarysdenver.com and let them know you’d like to see us back there!  Columbo’s Crazy Caper has been extended through May, so don’t miss out on booking or seeing our very funny inaugural production!!

MO Productions is adding a new show to offer for a private home party, as well as an alternate for our main production.  The Hillbillies From Hell transforms your group into the Mudpatch Family Reunion.  Join the clan as Maybelline and Buford Mudpatch entertain their kin from Kentucky with a lot of good old-fashioned Hillbilly Hyjinks!  There’s a lot of hootin’ and a hollerin’ until someone bites the dust!  This show is designed for a home party of 8+ people or can be presented in a larger public venue.  Our rates are extremely affordable for this show, even in this economy!!  Do something different for Dad’s birthday or just a fun night with a group of friends!  Hillbillies will be ready for performances starting in mid-March, and possibly even sooner.

We are also happy to announce the auditions for our next main production, Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead.  Auditions will be held Tuesday & Wednesday, March 10th & 11th, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Montclair Recreation Center in Lowry.  The address is 729 Ulster Way, Denver, CO 80230.  Auditioners may come one night or the other.  For audition information and full character descriptions, please visit our Audition Page or call 303.408.4246.  We are looking for four women and three men.  The show will be offered from May through August, with the possibility of extension.
