“Limited Engagement” is here! Vote for MO Productions!

August 8, 2010 by moproductions

Greetings all you happy campers!!

MO Productions is excited to premiere our new show, Limited Engagement, this coming weekend at The Broker Restaurant.  The rehearsals have been going well, and the cast is having a blast.  This new Musical Murder Mystery features not only 7 musical numbers, but also a Special Guest Star actor playing the role of Taylor Davenport.  Here’s our lineup:

August 14 – Peter A. Stone – Peter is an MO Pro veteran, having most recently appeared as Fred Mertz in I Love Lucy… to Death! We’ve never seen Peter chew scenery like this before!

September 18 – Gennipher Staroscik – Gennipher is making her MO Pro debut with Limited Engagement and is very excited to go psycho on everyone!

October 9 – Jennifer Wilde – Jennifer is an award-winning radio personality (formerly of the Alice 105.9 Morning Show) turned actor, and we are extremely happy to have her on board for her first MO Pro show!!

November 13 – Rob Purper – Rob is another MO Pro veteran and audience favorite, best known for his role as Andy Quartz in Columbo’s Crazy Caper.  It will be a wild ride this night!!

All shows require reservations, so call The Broker and book today: 303.292.5065

The Return of Sherlock Holmes also continues to do well, and will be running through November at the very least.  Our performance dates are 8/28, 9/25, 10/30 & 11/20.  Our 9/25 show will feature two different actors filling the roles of Jackie Justice/Dr. Watson and Madame Mariska/Mariska Bogdanov.  Newcomer Devra Keyes will be playing Jackie/Watson, and Giovanna Leah (who was Lucy in I Love Lucy… to Death! and is also Lilly in Limited Engagement) will play Madame Mariska.  It will be a very fun night with these two talented ladies bringing their own spin on these characters!!

MO Productions has been nominated for Best Theatre Group by the Denver 7 A-list, and we need your vote!  Voting goes until 9/17, so please pass the word.  As of now, we’re in 4th place.  Only the top three businesses get any recognition when the voting’s done, so please help us get back into the top three!!  Go to ctvr.us/moproductions and register yourself and vote.  It’s quick and painless, and placing in this contest would help highlight our business to the rest of Denver!  The Broker is also nominated for Best Romantic Restaurant.  Please vote for them at ctvr.us/thebroker.  Please pass the word on to your friends as well.  Every vote counts!!

Even though it’s August, people are planning ahead for the holidays.  The Broker and MO Productions are receiving inquiries for holiday parties, so if you want to have Denver’s funniest murder mystery company to provide the entertainment for your holiday party, please call 303.408.4246 today!  You can book your party at The Broker, bring MO Productions to another location, or even to your home!  We have The Hillbillies From Hell as the perfect Home Party show, and also we will offer a special holiday show for November & December only called Have a Holly Jolly Murder, which will be a 1980′s holiday pageant-themed show and also a Musical Murder Mystery!  Call today!

Our sister company in PA, White Rose Productions, continues to book ‘em fast-n-furious, so everyone back in PA, take a look at their performance schedule and see if there’s a show near you!!

We hope to see you at a performance soon.  Call The Broker today and make your reservations!  Help get the word out about MO Pro.  We have a second easy web site address for you to remember and give to other people: www.murdermysterydenver.com, so pass it on.  Your word of mouth is our best advertisement!!

Thanks, and stay cool out there!!

Summertime, and the Singin’ is easy!

July 7, 2010 by moproductions

Hellooooo all you MO Productions Fans!!

MO Productions is celebrating our 2nd Anniversary this month, and we want to thank you for helping us to grow and succeed.

Our shows at The Broker Restaurant continue to do well.  Our latest performance of I Love Lucy… to Death! had the highest attendance for a performance yet!  If you haven’t seen this show, you only have two more chances to see it: July 17th & July 31st.  After that, the only way you can love “Lucy” is to hire us for a private party.

Speaking of which, we are getting bookings for home parties of The Hillbillies From Hell and we are booking Holiday parties for December.  So if you want to do something funny, different and yet still affordable, give us a call or e-mail!!

If you’re free this Saturday, we have seating available for The Return of Sherlock Holmes.  This show is deceptively funny.  If you’re thinking this is your Grandma’s PBS Sherlock, you’re dead wrong!!!  This show has it all: Sex, Lies, Possession, Sex, Murder, Booze, Sex, Tarot, Past Lives… and Sex.  Watching Madame Mariska channel “Big Daddy” is worth the price of admission.  And who knows, maybe you’ll be the lucky guy who gets his bumps read by Madame Mariska!!  Our “Sherlock” dates at The Broker are:

Saturdays July 10, August 28, September 25, October 30 (a special Halloween-themed performance that will be attended by an authentic Sherlockian fan and friends!) and November 20.  The Broker Restaurant – 821 17th St., Denver, CO 80202.  Seating sharply at 6:00 for all performances.  Reservations Required.  Call 303.292.5065 to make reservations and for more info.

We are starting rehearsals for our next show, Limited Engagement, this week, and the cast is very excited about it.  Not only is this new show a Musical Murder Mystery, but every performance will have one key character played by a different Special Guest Star actor, so it will be a different show every performance!  If you just got engaged or have friends who did, come attend Lilly & Dirk’s engagement party from Hell and see how lucky you probably are compared to these people.  The show premieres on Saturday, August 14th at The Broker Restaurant.

Tying the knot can be deadly!

We continue to look ahead to the winter, and will be writing a special holiday show to be performed on select days at The Broker Restaurant as well as available for other venues.  The show will be called Have a Holly Jolly Murder, and this show will also be a Musical Murder Mystery.  So, if you’d like to book a party for your company, call now: 303.408.4246.
Thank you, as always, for your continued patronage and word of mouth.  You are our best advertising!  Keep spreading the word about how funny MO Productions’ shows are, how we have the most audience participation around, how we have the coolest prizes, and that you get to enjoy The Broker’s Happy Hour pricing after every show!

Be well!!

Jumpin’ for Joy in June!

June 14, 2010 by moproductions

Greetings and Happy Almost Summer!!

MO Productions is excited to share with you the great review we got from Bob Bows of the Denver Post.  He attended a performance of I Love Lucy… to Death and had a great time.  He recognized that MO Productions’ shows are full of “outright silliness” and combined with The Broker Restaurant’s “hearty menu”, we are a step above traditional dinner theatre fare!  To read the whole review, please go to www.coloradodrama.com/i_love_lucy_to_death.html.

Only 3 Performances Left!!!

Bob’s review has increased the number of reservations for the remaining “Lucy” shows, so if you haven’t seen the show yet, you better call soon!  The remaining dates are June 26, July 17 & July 31.  Seating is at 6:00 for all performances.  Reservations should be called in to 303.292.5065.  www.thebrokerrestaurant.com.

In addition to “Lucy”, our other production, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, continues to make audiences howl with laughter.  We’ve even caught the attention of the publisher of a Sherlock Holmes newsletter!  “Sherlock” will continue to run throughout 2010 at The Broker Restaurant, with a special performance this Saturday, June 19th,  as a benefit celebrating Denver Pridefest.  So make your reservation today and help support the GLBT Community Center of Denver.  Proceeds from the evening’s ticket sales will be donated to the Center.  Seating is at 6:00 and the show will go until 9:30, so you would have plenty of time to head out after the show and party the night away!  Call The Broker at 303.292.5065 today!!

As mentioned above, we will be performing at The Broker throughout the rest of 2010.  We are getting ready to start rehearsals for our next main production, Limited Engagement.  This show takes place at the engagement party of Lilly White and Dirk Forester, and as their friends and family celebrate, dark secrets unfold.  Will the wedding still go on?  Come find out, and enjoy MO Productions’ first musical murder mystery!!!  Limited Engagement will open on August 14th and every performance will feature a Special Guest Star actor in one of the roles, so it will never be the same show twice!  Be among the first people to attend Lilly & Dirk’s engagement party, and maybe we’ll make you part of the show as an audience character!  Don’t wanna get that involved?  No problem.  You can sit back and just enjoy the show.  But we always make at least 6 people in the audience actual characters in every show, so if you have a friend or family member you want us to shine the spotlight on, let our Stage Manager know when you arrive to the performance.

Here’s a rundown of all our upcoming public performances at The Broker:

I Love Lucy… to Death – Saturdays June 26, July 17 & July 24

The Return of Sherlock Holmes – Saturdays June 19th, July 10, August 28, September 25, October 30 (A Special Halloween Event!) & November 20

Limited Engagement – Saturdays August 14, September 18, October 9 & November 13

Seating for all shows is promptly at 6:00.  Shows run until around 9:30-9:45.  For more show details, please visit the MO Productions Website or The Broker Website.

And it’s not too late to think ahead for the holidays!  MO Productions and The Broker are already getting calls and e-mails inquiring about possible holiday party bookings in December!  That’s right, folks.  We’re getting calls now.  So, if you’d like to book an MO Productions show for a private party at The Broker or the venue of your choice, since we are a touring entertainment company, give us a shout!  We will be producing a special holiday show for December only called Have a Holly Jolly Murder.

If thinking ahead to the holidays is too much for you, how about just a great summer party idea?  Our Home Party show, The Hillbillies From Hell, is an easy solution for something different to do for extra fun at your backyard barbecue.  The show is smaller and shorter than our regular performances, and very affordable for a private home party.  Call us today at 303.408.4246 for more info!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and patronage.  Please keep spreading the word, as your word of mouth is our best advertisement!  We hope to see you this Saturday for our Pride benefit performance!!

Are you ready for Summer?

May 23, 2010 by moproductions

MO Productions most certainly is!

Hi, everyone!  We hope you’re enjoying the warmer weather.  Things are heating up for MO Productions as well!!

Our 5/22 performance of The Return of Sherlock Holmes was great fun.  Our audience really kicked it up a notch last night and we had about the best audience participation characters as a whole yet!  If you haven’t seen Sherlock yet, we have more performances coming your way!  Also, we still have performances of I Love Lucy… to Death! that you can attend, including next weekend.  Come on out to The Broker on Saturday, May 29th and kick off your Memorial Day weekend with lots of laughs with Lucy, Ricky, Ethel & Fred!

We’re also quite excited to announce that our June 19th performance of Sherlock will be a benefit for Denver’s Pridefest.  Proceeds from your admission price will be donated to the GLBT Center of Denver.  So, come have a great dinner and fun laughs before hitting the later evening Pride festivities.  The show will be done by 9:30, which gives you plenty of time to hit the clubs for Pride!  MO Productions and The Broker are proud to support the GLBT community of Denver, so we hope to see you at the show!!

So, with Memorial Day being the start of Backyard BBQ Season, here’s a thought for you: Take your Backyard BBQ and turn it into a Backwoods Brouhaha!  The Hillbillies From Hell is the perfect show to host at your home for a private party of 8 or more people.  Two of our very talented actors will turn your guests into the Mudpatch Family Reunion for about a hour and-a-half and as the Host you get to be the Star!  This show is extremely affordable and a great way to do something different for your friends at your next get-together!  Call 303.408.4246 to get a price quote.

MO Productions is also excited to let you know that we’re changing up our production schedule.  The Wizard of Ozzy will not be produced at this time, and we’re going to delay the debut of As Slain on TV until 2011.  Why, you ask?  Because we just felt a musical number coming on.  Well, actually a few of them.  Starting in August we will have a great new show available called Limited Engagement, and this engagement party to die for is going to be a Musical Murder Mystery!  The show is still being written, but so far we think it’s a scream!

We would also like to remind you that your word of mouth is our best advertising!  It’s music to our ears to hear a new audience member tell us a friend or family member recommended that they come see one of our shows.  Please keep up the great work talking us up, and don’t forget to suggest other venues to us as well.  MO Productions is available to perform anywhere within the extended Denver Metro area, so those of you closer to Colorado Springs or Fort Collins, we will travel to you!

Thank you all for your continued support, and don’t forget your SPF50 out there!!

We have decided not to produce The Wizard of Ozzy at this time, and are working with The Broker on which new show to start in July after “Lucy” ends its run, so come see the show while you can!  Pass the word on!  Your word of mouth is our best advertising!

Springing Ahead!

March 27, 2010 by moproductions

My goodness, did March come and go quickly!!

Hello friends and supporters of MO Productions!  We have been so busy here, it’s taken a while to get a new blog together…

Our relationship with The Broker Restaurant continues to thrive, I’m excited to say!  We have performed three times there to consistently good crowds and comments.  We have three upcoming performances with more to be scheduled soon.  Read on!

We will be back at The Broker this coming Saturday, April 3rd.  If you’re not going out of town for Easter, come see The Return of Sherlock Holmes!  This brand new show was written at the request of The Broker.  Come see what happens when the spirits of Holmes and Watson take over two unwitting people in the 21st Century when an evening with a psychic medium goes afoul!

Saturday April 3rd & 24th – Seating Promptly at 6:00 w/ Salads served by 6:30

The Broker Restaurant – 821 17th St, Denver, CO 80202

By Reservation Only – Call 303.292.5065 for reservations & parking info

Mixed Field Greens Salad; Choice of London Broil, Marinated Kodiak Salmon or Chicken Picatta; Chocolate Mousse

$50/person includes meal, show, non-alcoholic beverages, tax & gratuity – Bar Separate

We will be also performing at The Broker on Saturday, April 17th with I Love Lucy… to Death! The times and menu are the same as above!

The Broker has also started booking MO Productions for private corporate shows!  If you would like more info on how to book a private show at The Broker, please call Sarah Bourgoin at 303.292.5065.

We will be meeting with The Broker to schedule more performances of “Lucy” and “Sherlock” into the summer, and then will be adding our next show, The Wizard of Ozzy, starting this summer.  For anyone who has already come see us at The Broker, we want to thank you for helping to make this new association a success!  We also need to pass on that The Broker has not renewed their valet parking contract, so please inquire with The Broker on where/how you should park when attending a performance there.  Our shows last between 3½-4 hours, and we’d hate for anyone to get a parking ticket!!

Our sister company, White Rose Productions, in PA is going strong with new shows!  Cheryl Lynn and company are currently touring with “Rachael Ray’s Food Network Nightmare”, and will then start up “The Hillbillies From Hell” in May.  Cheryl has taken a cue from us and is bringing back this great show she wrote to offer for regular public performances as well as private home parties.  Cheryl is also in the process of writing “All in the Family: The Case of the Missing Meathead”, which sounds like it’s going to be another wild show paying homage to classic television!

If you haven’t done so lately, please visit our website: www.moproductions.net.  We continually add content and update the site.  If you have attended a show and took photos, we encourage you to e-mail them to us so we can add them to our expanded Photo Gallery page!  Also be sure to become a fan of us on Facebook and suggest our page to your friends!

Thank you for all your continued support!  Hope to see you at a show soon!

January 22, 2010 by moproductions

Happy New Year, everyone!! We have very exciting news to announce!

MO Productions has found another new public venue, and they have committed to six performances over the next three months!  We are very excited to be working with The Broker Restaurant!  This fine dining establishment is nestled in the heart of downtown Denver, set in what was formerly a bank vault!  They offer excellent food, and will be hosting our shows in their main dining room.

The Broker Restaurant – 821 17th St., Denver, CO 80202

www.thebrokerrestaurant.com – 303.292.5065

We have changed around our production schedule at the request of The Broker, so The Wizard of Ozzy has been pushed back until this summer.  We are still looking for 1-2 men for roles in that show, so if you are interested, or someone who might be, please call or e-mail to set up an audition with us!  So, if we’re not doing Ozzy, then what are we doing?  I guess we’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do…

That’s right!  MO Productions is happy to announce we will be doing I Love Lucy… to Death! at The Broker.  Here are the dates:

Saturday, February 6th, Saturday March 20th, & Saturday April 17th – Doors open @ 6:00, Salads served by 6:30.  The show runs until about 9:45.Now, The Broker also wanted something with a bit more mystery in it, and requested a Sherlock Holmes show.  Accepting the challenge, I took it to task to write a show specifically for them.  We are very excited to announce the World Premiere of The Return of Sherlock Holmes!  Here are the dates:

Saturday, March 13th, Saturday April 3rd, & Saturday April 24th – Doors open @ 6:00, Salads served by 6:30.  The show runs until about 9:25.

  • Reservations are required for all shows.
  • Please call 303.292.5065 and have your credit card ready.
  • The price is $50/person, which includes three course meal, the show, non-alcoholic beverages, tax & tip.  Bar bill is separate.  (Wow, What a great deal!!)
  • Very affordable valet parking is available from The Broker!
  • The menu includes: Mixed Field Greens Salad w/ Balsamic Dressing – Entrée Choice of: London Broil, Marinated Kodiak Salmon or Steakhouse Chicken Picatta – Dessert: Chocolate Mousse.

We hope this association with The Broker turns into a year-round partnership.  How can that happen?  By your support, patronage and positive comments.  Please come see a show, or refer someone to come see a show.  MO Productions will of course still be available for other venues, and if you have a place you’d like to recommend, please let us know!  Also, we are available for your charitable fund raiser as well as a private party in your home for 8 or more people.  MO Productions is not only the funniest Murder Mystery Entertainment Company in Denver, we are the most affordable! Just imagine having a fun evening with friends in the comfort of your own home, and having professional actors bring a murder mystery comedy to you that involves the participation of all your guests?!  Better than a box game anytime!!

Thank you for your continued support and well-wishes!  We are extremely excited to be getting off to such a good start for 2010.  Please help us keep the momentum going, dear friends!!

We would like to give a shout-out and super big thanks to Ruby Ann Boxcar, the star of Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret’s newest feature: Ruby Ann Boxcar’s Great Big After-Church Sunday Social.  Ruby Ann has a great show every Sunday from 1:00-2:30 until September 27th.  She includes audience talent to come up on stage every week, and allowed MO Productions to do a bit from Shop ‘Til You Drop… Dead last Sunday.  We had a great time watching her show, and suggest you do the same before Ruby Ann heads back to California!

Lastly, we must sadly bid farewell to one of our MO Productions family.  Peter Stone, our Stage Manager, has decided to move back east to Massachusetts.  He will be greatly missed.  We wish him all the best, and hope he might make it back out here again sometime!  Peter, as we say in The Hillbillies From Hell: “Y’all come back now!  Ya hear?!”

Cousin Bubba

Thank you all for your continued support, and please keep passing the word about MO Productions.  Your word-of-mouth is our best advertising!!
